Aldous Vane, Caldmere's most feared theater critic, was found dead Thursday night at the base of Playhouse Lane — his car crumpled against the concrete retaining wall at the bottom of the hill. The medical examiner's initial report says the brake failure looks mechanical. Caldmere PD isn't so sure.
