Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Daily Sleuth — the mobile app, the website at dailysleuth.app, and any related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is provided by LFH Labs ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements.

Accounts

You may use most features of the Service without an account. If you choose to create an account or sign in with Apple or Google, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are being used in violation of these Terms.

Subscriptions and Purchases

The Service is free to play with optional in-app purchases and subscriptions ("Premium"). Premium unlocks additional features such as the archive of past cases and bonus content.

• Billing. Purchases made through the mobile app are billed by Apple or Google according to your account's payment method. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription state, but we do not handle or store your payment information.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. The renewal price is the price displayed at the time of purchase unless we notify you of a change in advance.
• Cancellation. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your Apple ID or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the current paid period.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by the platform that processed the purchase (Apple App Store or Google Play) according to its refund policy. We are unable to issue refunds directly.
• Free trials and introductory offers. If we offer a free trial, your subscription will begin automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel beforehand.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service.
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute case content, character art, location art, or other material from the Service.
• Use the Service to harass other players, post hateful or unlawful content, or impersonate others.
• Submit false data to leaderboards or attempt to manipulate rankings through automation, multiple accounts, or other artificial means.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, including by overloading our servers or probing for vulnerabilities without permission.
• Use the Service in violation of any applicable law.

Content and Intellectual Property

All cases, characters, locations, story text, art, audio, and other content within the Service are owned by LFH Labs or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service for your own non-commercial entertainment. All other rights are reserved.

All characters, locations, and events depicted in the Service are fictional. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, or to real places or events is coincidental.

User-Submitted Content

If you submit feedback, bug reports, or other content to us, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use that content to operate and improve the Service. You represent that any content you submit is your own and does not infringe anyone else's rights.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LFH LABS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR (B) FIVE U.S. DOLLARS.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we believe you have violated these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual-property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

Apple App Store Terms

If you obtained the mobile app from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and LFH Labs only, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and LFH Labs agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Missouri for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
