Trophy Season
The Moorings, Caldmere
The Caldmere Junior Sailing Championship trophy — a hand-engraved silver cup awarded to sixteen-year-old Iris Calloway three years running — vanished from its locked display case at The Moorings overnight. Iris earned a fourth win on Saturday. By Sunday morning, the cup was gone.
Everyone has something to hide.
39. Former competitive sailor, shoulder injury at 26 ended his racing career. Athletic, political, adaptable. Charming but calculating. The smile doesn't always reach his eyes.
58. Builds and repairs boats. Came from the Azores at 17. Gruff, skilled, unsentimental about everything except boats. Speaks with an accent that thickens when angry.
A former PGA Tour hopeful who washed out and landed at Pinecrest. Likable, athletic, and far more observant than his easygoing demeanor suggests.
